Paid Internship: I was a paid intern at DeSantisBreindel, which is a branding and marketing company in New York City. I worked during the summer of 2008 for 45 hours a week, for a little over a month. The summer of 2009 I worked there again, and worked 40 hours a week for two months.
Sex, Etc.: I was a paid staff writer for the magazine and website Sex, Etc. I started working in December of 2007 and still contribute to the magazine and website.
Med-O-Lark Camp: I was a counselor and dance instructor at this sleep away camp during the summer of 2008. It was great experience and I hope to go back this summer.
Extra-Curricular Activites
Community Service: Working at a homeless shelter where I was co-coordinator for my synagogue to organize schedules for more than 50 volunteers, provide 3 meals a day, sleep over, help kids with their homework etc. I've been working there since I was 11 for approximately 25 hours a week, 3 weeks a year.
Dance: I have studied ballet, Pointe, jazz, theater, hip-hop, and modern. I was also a part of a traveling hip-hop company at my school Progressive Dance Studio. I've been dancing at this studio since I was in the 5th grade and dance all year round usually taking about 5 hours of classes per week.
Kids In Need: I was president of this club at my school. It was a community service club where we worked with kids with developmental disabilities, engaging them in a variety of activities. We worked all year, usually four hours a week.
Task Force: I was a member of this community service club where we worked with inner-city youth, on cooking projects, crafts work, etc. We worked all year, usually four hours a week.
Domestic Abuse Awareness Club: I am a member of this club where we learned the facts about domestic violence. In addition we raised money to help the families who have been affected by domestic violence. We worked all year, usually three hours a week.
Soccer: I was a part of the soccer team for all four years of high school. We played and practiced for 12 weeks in the year for 15 hours a week. I was captain of the JV team my junior year.
